Press Release September 25, 2024

Prague once again opens its doors to the gaming industry, connecting professionals, students, and the public. Visitors can look forward to the Game Developers Session, accompanied by the AI Summit and Game Law Summit, this December

Prague, September 25, 2024

Game Developers Session is the oldest Central European conference dedicated to game development, gaming technologies, business, and marketing. The event will feature over 90 speakers and more than 70 indie teams. This year’s 22nd edition will take place from December 13-14 at the Prague Congress Centre. In addition to traditional lectures, workshops, and game studio booths, it will offer a significantly expanded festival for independent developers along with two summits focused on artificial intelligence and game law.

More than 2,000 attendees are expected to visit the conference. Alongside presentations from established Czech studios such as Hangar 13, Giants Software, and Wube Software, the exhibition will feature over 70 independent game projects from the Czech Republic and across Europe. Visitors will have the opportunity to try these projects, which will also be showcased to investors and publishers, judged by a professional jury, and the best ones will be awarded at the Indie Games Expo Awards. GDS Prague is thus becoming one of the largest indie game festivals in Europe, serving as an event that educates, connects, and promotes the work of all game developers.

The event will also feature a packed program of six tracks of lectures and workshops from over 90 experts from leading game studios worldwide, three parties, and a game jam in collaboration with Charles University's game development program. The event will also be presented online with a special event on Steam, on our website, and through live streams of gameplay sessions featuring the showcased projects directly from the conference venue.

"As every year, we will gradually unveil the program and the conference's stars. I am very excited to already confirm the participation of Glen Schofield, the lead producer and director of titles such as Dead Space, Call of Duty MW3/AW/WW2, and Callisto Protocol. We also have a confirmation from Kate Edwards, former Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association and one of the top ten most influential women in gaming (according to Fortune magazine, 2013),” says Pavel Barák, Director of the GDS conference.

A key highlight of the program will be the press conference of the Czech Game Developers Association on Friday, December 13, presenting the results of the latest study on the state of the gaming industry in the Czech Republic.
